Make everyday washing up and surface cleaning a little less reliant on plastic with these Compostable Kitchen Sponges. Each sponge is made from cellulose plant fibre with a natural loofah scourer on one side, giving you two useful cleaning surfaces in one simple kitchen sponge.

Unlike conventional plastic foam sponges, these compostable kitchen sponges are made without plastic foam. Once they have reached the end of their useful life, they can be placed in your compost bin or food waste bin.

I purchased these as I was tired of the yellow sponges which never lasted very long plus they were full of plastic which could only go to landfill. These ones however seem to last for longer and can be cleaned in the dishwasher and are compostable when they finally need disposing of. Very useful with a sponge side and an abrasive side which is ok on Teflon pans. Highly recommend.

I like these sponges because they are environmentally friendly. However, they are a little too hard and consequently not as easy to use as the conventional ones. Maybe they'll soften in time.

Excellent service, came within 3 days and ordered on a Sunday
2nd pack of sponges from Re:gn. These are great for washing up and last about 3-4 weeks before needing to replace.
I've also used one for cleaning the grout (sideways on) in ensuite shower which works well too

Feels and works like a regular sponge!

I wanted to wait a couple of weeks before posting a review so that I could really test out these sponges. One of the things I miss most about regular sponges is how easy it was to work the soap into suds. I've tried using Swedish cloths, but I find they're better for wiping counters down than washing up. These plant fibre sponges, on the other hand, are perfect. They have the feel of regular sponges and suds up like a dream. Most importantly, when they've served their purpose, I can compost them without the guilt of adding more microplastics to the waters. They also come in a pack of three, which means I'll be stocked up for a while. Highly recommend.
