Once your diffuser is finished, do not place the reeds in household recycling as they will be contaminated with oil. Instead:

Allow reeds to dry fully, then place in general waste; or

Reuse them by adding a few drops of essential oil and placing them in drawers, wardrobes, or airing cupboards for a light fragrance; or

Use them as natural firelighters for wood burners or outdoor fires (never in gas fires).
