Vegan Sweets
Why Switch to Vegan Sweets
Most gummy sweets contain gelatine, a setting agent made from animal by-products. It's in the majority of standard pick-and-mix, gummies, and chewy sweets, which quietly puts a huge chunk of the confectionery aisle off-limits for anyone avoiding animal products.
Vegan sweets use plant-based alternatives that achieve the same soft, chewy texture without animal traces. So if you fancy something fruity, fizzy or tangy, you can still choose all your favourite flavours!
What Makes These Vegan Sweets Different
Our range of vegan sweets includes fruity rings, strawberry pencils, blue raspberry gummies and fizzy assorted pencils. They're all made without gelatine, dairy, or any other animal-derived ingredients, and all packaged without single-use plastic. Some even come in a reusable glass bottle that can be used for storage or decoration long after you've had your sugar fix!
Some products carry celebration-specific messages, making them a great gift option without requiring extra wrapping. Whether it's a birthday, a party, a gift, or just a treat for yourself, there's a vegan sweet for every occasion. The Ay Up Me Duck bottle of fruity rings even includes a 30p donation to Base 51, a Nottingham-based charity supporting vulnerable young people.
What to Look for in Vegan Sweets
Gelatine is the most common non-vegan ingredient in confectionery, but it's not the only one; beeswax is sometimes used as a glazing agent on coated sweets, and carmine (a red dye derived from insects) still appears in some fruit-flavoured sweets. A vegan trademark from a recognised certifying body means the formula has been independently verified - not just because they say so!
Check for natural colours and flavourings, as plant-based concentrates from sources like spirulina, paprika, or black carrot achieve the same results as synthetic dyes; their presence is a good sign the recipe has been thought through.
